Author Guidelines

Authors must follow the formatting and style guidelines outlined in the ALTERA - Journal of Applied Linguistics, English Education, and Literature for manuscript submission. The template is available on the journal's website, or the LATEX version should be used. Papers that meet these guidelines will be processed for review.

To streamline the review process, authors need to nominate three potential reviewers for their paper. The editorial team requests the names and complete contact details of individuals experienced in the relevant field, including valid email addresses. One reviewer will be selected from these nominations, while the editor will appoint two additional reviewers.

After submitting reviewer suggestions and ensuring compliance with the author's guidelines, the paper will undergo review. Authors can expect feedback within 30 to 60 days.

The journal considers various types of manuscripts for peer review:

  • Regular research articles presenting hypotheses, investigations, solutions, models, experiments, or simulations relevant to the field.
  • Topical reviews offer critical assessments and conclusions on emerging areas within the journal's scope.
  • Theoretical articles using mathematical methods to develop new insights.
  • Survey papers summarizing recent scholarly articles and drawing fresh conclusions.
  • Perspective pieces provide an authoritative view on a topic with community uncertainty or disagreement.
  • Applied research articles discussing challenges and practical solutions within the journal's scope.
  • Negative result papers presenting non-supportive experimental or theoretical findings with meaningful research questions.
  • Methodological articles report new or improved fabrication, measurement, or mathematics techniques.

Authors are encouraged to structure their articles with Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion sections. Each section should meet specific criteria, including background, problem statement, proposed solution, citations, transparent methodologies, simplified result presentations, and concise conclusions.

Language quality, relevance of references, and appropriate usage of figures and tables are crucial for publication. Tables and figures should be numbered, adequately captioned, and referenced in the text. Citations within the text should follow a sequential order and match the reference list.

Authors should review their submission against the provided checklist before finalizing it for submission. Compliance with these guidelines is essential to ensure a smooth review process. After acceptance, authors are expected to cover the associated publication fees and transfer the copyright to the journal.

The manuscript must be original, not previously published, and should comply with the journal's format, ensuring that the content aligns with the guidelines for authors. Additionally, authors need to secure permissions for reproducing copyrighted material from other sources.

Lastly, the names and contact details provided during submission will only be used for journal-related purposes and not shared for other intents.

Please ensure your submission adheres to these guidelines to facilitate the review process.
